Daniel C. Yallah, age 19, passed away on November 15, 2019 due to complications from liver cancer. Daniel was a valued member of Team Liberia since the Unity Cup’s inception in 2016.
On November 20, 2019, Mayor Jim Kenney presented Team Liberia coach Jason Waylee with a tribute letter in Daniel’s honor. The letter cited Daniel’s “amazing talents as a budding soccer player and his remarkable ability to overcome many challenges, and flourish scholastically, athletically, and socially, and make a tremendous impact on our city during his too-short life.”
As the Unity Cup community mourns the passing of Daniel C. Yallah, our thoughts are with his family and friends, including his soccer teammates.
