On June 7, the Philadelphia International Unity Cup, presented by Goya Foods, hosted its draw event at Independence Visitor Center. The annual soccer tournament will begin on August 3 and will culminate with championship day at the Philadelphia Union’s Talen Energy Stadium on October 13.

Mayor Jim Kenney drew teams for opening rounds of the third annual tournament. This year’s tournament welcomes 11 new countries:

  • Albania
  • England
  • Spain
  • Belize
  • El Salvador
  • Peru
  • Mali
  • Gambia
  • Guinea
  • Saudi Arabia
  • Kenya

Along with their veteran counterparts, the 52 teams will play in more than 104 games total this season.
